Important trends and innovation in digital transformation
When the whole DT started we saw that innovations like API’s and Services rapidly came to the market. Next phase micro-services were added to the mix, and lately we see that streaming events are upcoming as well as customer identity management.
How does that reflect on IT?
Most of the companies and customers we have worked with in the past years regarding the Digital Transformation, focused on a few key principles: API-first, Cloud-first and Open Source-first. With these key principles they were able to become an extremely agile company.
What do you mean with Streaming Events?
Streaming Events are for example incoming streams of data from IOT devices or a continuous stream of information which needs to be processed and brought to the back-end systems with technology like Kafka. So, therefore Yenlo for example added Kafka technology to our Platform-as-a-Service solution called Connext.
You also mentioned customer identity. What is that exactly?
Well in short it is called CIAM, Customer Identity and Access Management. That is a whole topic on itself, but in short it is the feature whereby end-customers or consumers are allowed to choose their own way to identify themselves with for example LinkedIN or their fingerprint and API’s respond to such authentication.
That is clear to me, do you think CIAM will be the next big thing in the Digital Tranformation?
Yes, I am absolute sure that CIAM is already a fact and it will stay. We see many of our existing customer starts investigations and pilot projects around CIAM, it is an easy way to delegate identity management to the end-customer and still trust someones identity. I think a next step, mainly in the B2C market.
