Get hands-on WSO2 Enterprise Integrator experience in 5 days!
The WSO2 Enterprise Integrator 6.6.0 is the successor to the WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). In this product, the functionality of the ESB is combined with other WSO2 Products. These products are:
- WSO2 Enterprise Integrator / Micro Integrator
- WSO2 Business Process Server (BPS) (full product)
- WSO2 Data Services Server (DSS) (integrated as feature)
- WSO2 Message Broker (MB) (full product)
- WSO2 EI Analytics
It is not necessary or required to use these products. The fundamentals training focuses on the Enterprise Integration Profile and covers the DSS. Business Process Server (BPS) and Message Broker (MB) are not covered in the training. So what are you going to learn and do? Let us explain to you.
Target
After the training you will have knowledge of WSO2 EI and hands-on experience creating simple proxies and APIs using WSO2 EI and WSO2 Integration Studio.
Content
This WSO2 Enterprise Integrator Online Classroom Training focusses on:
- Proxies
- APIs and Connectors
- DSS
It’s a combination of theory and explanation and hands-on experience with a number of labs. In the training you will get a number of assignments that will activate the knowledge you have gained. Because, in contrary to the training materials, these assignments are given at a very high level. At the end of the training a knowledge quiz can be taken.
Audience and prior knowledge
The audience for this training or people with an interest in Enterprise Integration and preferably some experience with Enterprise Service Bus and terms like SOA, SOAP, REST and Enterprise Integration Patterns. Contact us if you have any questions.
Price & Payment
The Training is based on a fixed-price per participant. The payment needs to be done upfront. An invoice will be sent after your registration. After receiving your payment you will get an email with detailed instructions about the training and how to access the labs.

Material
We will run this training online on our Yenlo training platform and will provide you all necessary virtual servers running on Amazon (AWS) you need to follow this online training. We work with a graphical desktop to the AWS instances.
Labs are available via our Training Confluence platform from training start until training end.
You will not receive any printed material. After the training you will also receive instructions on how to set up and environment to continue working with the WSO2 Enterprise Integrator.
All provided material is Copyright © Protected by Yenlo and may not be published and/or reproduced.
Prerequisites
At this moment we use Nomachine to connect to the instances. Nomachine should be installed on your locally machine before the training. This requires admin rights to be able to install this. Nomachine is available for Windows, Linux and Mac. To make a connection certain ports should be open(ed). We would suggest not to use a VPN connection if possible because of security rules. If your machine defaults to a VPN connection if not connected to the company network, switch to a non VPN connection.
We will test the configuration before the training. In this case you will need to supply your IP address because of the securitygroups of the instances in order to be able to connect.
Dates
Check the available dates for this training below. We schedule and deliver the public training in several regions / countries like the Netherlands / USA / Germany. Contact us for other countries / regions.
“The real world scenario examples have been very helpful in understanding the different WSO2 EI concepts. Exercises and handouts are very well planned and documented in step-by-step steps from basic to advanced topics, which was very useful.”

Frequently asked questions
The training can take place at Yenlo’s headquarters in Schiphol-Rijk (Amsterdam) or on site at a client when there is a large enough group of people. In COVID times we offer training online.
The regular training (classroom) ranges from one day to multiple days, depending on the product and type of training (e.g., fundamentals / advanced). Online trainings are always multiday.
Custom training is possible, however this will be priced differently since we need to change the standard training material. Please contact us if you have questions about custom training.
Classroom training is a whole day or multiple days with the trainer in a physical location. The trainer helps you directly when you have questions and of course explains the theory.
The online training is conducted completely online and is a slimmed down version of the regular training to make it manageable for people to do it on their own.
In an online training setting, you will have a morning session where we explain and discuss theory. The afternoon is spent on your own, in the virtual environment, with help from the trainer via Teams or other communication tools.
The computer (e.g., a PC) should be able to run NoMachine and be able to make a connection to our training environment. Several ports and internet access need to be open / available since everything is done in the cloud. The PC should ideally be running Windows.
Note: In case of an internet connection not being available, we could revert to a local installation. Meaning that you install the environment on your local pc and work from there. To be able to install the ‘no machine software’, as well as the port openings, you need to have administrative rights.
We will be running a CentOS 7 Linux environment running on an Amazon with two cores and eight gigabytes of memory. This should be enough for the training in general.
Linux and knowledge of Linux is handy. However, within the training, the number of specific Linux commands that we are going to use, will be limited to some very simple commands that are also familiar for Windows users. Like for instance, moving within a directory structure with CD, and starting the scripts from WSO2 using the command line tool.
You do not necessarily need to be a developer to attend the training and to be able to finish the training. The training often focuses more on configuration than on typical coding. In other words, most of the stuff that you are doing, will be done by clicking and typing.
No, knowledge of an enterprise service bus is something that is handy. But it is not a prerequisite. If you are not familiar with the concepts that are typically associated with connecting systems, you can always have a discussion with our training department / our trainer, to see if you can attend the training.
In some cases, we can give you some reading material. This is to improve your knowledge before the training.
Having said that, we have had project managers, with almost no development experience or knowledge of the concepts of the enterprise service bus, and they were able to complete the training.
Whenever you are learning something new, it is going to be a challenge for your mind. With that, we mean that you are going to learn new concepts, new interfaces, new tools. This will make the training require energy, but the training will be manageable.
However, it is very common to be overloaded with information at the end of the day, that is why the training instances are often just shut down at night because of the need to rest for your mind, to be able to absorb the training material in a better way.
One of the most important things that we stress is that Rome was not built in one day. The training course that you will embark on will be the start of a journey as a developer or configurator of WSO2 products. Do not expect every aspect, every detail to be crystal clear from the first moment. It is very common to only have the pieces of the puzzle fall into place after some time, or some weeks. So, no. You will not be an instant expert.
The best way to prepare is to get a good night’s rest. Make sure that you read the prerequisites of the training material. And furthermore, have an open mind as to the things that you are about to learn.
Most of the labs can be done on your own computer. During the training you will have the training material online (confluence environment), after the training the materials and training environment will not be available anymore.
No, it is not allowed. The training material is the intellectual property of Yenlo and may not be photocopied or duplicated in any form or shape.
During the training you can always ask the trainer, directly in a classroom setting or using digital communication channels like Teams, WhatsApp, email when you have a question when doing the labs / homework.
For the API Manager and the Enterprise Integrator, there are advanced courses that will deepen your knowledge with regard to the two products. For Identity Server, an advanced course is under construction.
The training material, as well as the training, is given in English. However, the training can be given in Dutch or German as well. All materials will be in English, the explanation will be in either English, German or Dutch when there is a homogenous group, i.e. all speakers are either German or Dutch, and they agree to the change of language.
When there is a mixed group of students, we will revert to the common spoken language, English.
