Training & Certification

The endless and ever-expanding possibilities of integration technology can be overwhelming. Training is then the most efficient and empowering way to elevate your teams and accelerate your grip on market opportunities.

A front row seat to first class training

In our dedicated training sessions, we take the technology learning materials as a starting point. Then, we top it with our own expertise and real-life customer cases, so you get the best of both worlds: a theoretical and a practical approach. Our lecturers are selected based on knowledge and teaching skills, to make your training days highly informative and fun. We offer private training at your company, public classroom training and online classroom training.

Currently we only offer training for WSO2 and Boomi integration solutions.

Qualified and inspiring lecturers

Yenlo’s product training has been collaboratively put together by us, our community of specialists and the vendors we work with. The training sessions are only carried out by qualified Yenlo lecturers. All training materials, such as documentation, reference sources, presentations and hand-on labs are developed and carefully selected by Yenlo based on our years of experience and real-life customer cases.

WSO2 Aftercare Program

Training is just a starting point. It is the launchpad from which you go out and put to practice what you’ve learned. Your business is out there in the real world, and you will run into challenges eventually. We’ve been there. This is why we started the Aftercare Program. A service that does exactly that: taking care of all integration-related issues you come across after you’ve left the classroom.

  • A private online session of 4 hours every 3 months
  • A private Development Support package of 20 hours
  • 2 free public training days of choice to expand your knowledge

The Aftercare program starts right after your first training and runs for one year. In this year, we’ll upskill and update you on the latest products and features. Skills are your biggest asset and we help you refine them.

Yenlo and WSO2 Certification

When you’ve successfully completed one of our training sessions, you can take the Yenlo exam and when you’ve passed you receive an official certificate that proves your skills. This means you’re ready to start gaining experience with integration technologies within your own company.

When you have both skills and experience, you can start your certificate program. Leading to more expertise that help individuals uplevel their game and propel companies forward.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the training take place?

The training can take place at Yenlo’s headquarters in Schiphol-Rijk (Amsterdam) or on site at a client when there is a large enough group of people. In COVID times we offer training online.

How long is the training?

The regular training (classroom) ranges from one day to multiple days, depending on the product and type of training (e.g., fundamentals / advanced). Online trainings are always multiday.

Can I have customized training?

Custom training is possible, however this will be priced differently since we need to change the standard training material. Please contact us if you have questions about custom training.

What is the difference between online training and classroom training?

Classroom training is a whole day or multiple days with the trainer in a physical location. The trainer helps you directly when you have questions and of course explains the theory.
The online training is conducted completely online and is a slimmed down version of the regular training to make it manageable for people to do it on their own.

In an online training setting, you will have a morning session where we explain and discuss theory. The afternoon is spent on your own, in the virtual environment, with help from the trainer via Teams or other communication tools.

What kind of computer do I need for the training?

The computer (e.g., a PC) be able to make a connection to our training environment. Several ports and internet access need to be open / available since everything is done in the cloud. The PC should ideally be running Windows.

Note: In case of an internet connection not being available, we could revert to a local installation. Meaning that you install the environment on your local pc and work from there. To be able to install the software, as well as the port openings, you need to have administrative rights.

What kind of operating system will we be running in the training environment?

We will be running a CentOS 7 Linux environment running on an Amazon with two cores and eight gigabytes of memory. This should be enough for the training in general.

Do I need Linux knowledge and capabilities to work with the environment?

Linux and knowledge of Linux is handy. However, within the training, the number of specific Linux commands that we are going to use, will be limited to some very simple commands that are also familiar for Windows users. Like for instance, moving within a directory structure with CD, and starting the scripts from WSO2 using the command line tool.

I am not a developer, would I be able to follow the training for developers? (Either fundamentals or advanced)

You do not necessarily need to be a developer to attend the training and to be able to finish the training. The training often focuses more on configuration than on typical coding. In other words, most of the stuff that you are doing, will be done by clicking and typing.

I am not familiar with the concept of message mediation, message transformation or concepts like the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). Does this mean I would not be able to complete training?

No, knowledge of an enterprise service bus is something that is handy. But it is not a prerequisite. If you are not familiar with the concepts that are typically associated with connecting systems, you can always have a discussion with our training department / our trainer, to see if you can attend the training.

In some cases, we can give you some reading material. This is to improve your knowledge before the training.

Having said that, we have had project managers, with almost no development experience or knowledge of the concepts of the enterprise service bus, and they were able to complete the training.

Is the training difficult?

Whenever you are learning something new, it is going to be a challenge for your mind. With that, we mean that you are going to learn new concepts, new interfaces, new tools. This will make the training require energy, but the training will be manageable.

However, it is very common to be overloaded with information at the end of the day, that is why the training instances are often just shut down at night because of the need to rest for your mind, to be able to absorb the training material in a better way.

Will I be an expert after the training?

One of the most important things that we stress is that Rome was not built in one day. The training course that you will embark on will be the start of a journey as a developer or configurator of WSO2 products. Do not expect every aspect, every detail to be crystal clear from the first moment. It is very common to only have the pieces of the puzzle fall into place after some time, or some weeks. So, no. You will not be an instant expert.

How can I best prepare for a training like this?

The best way to prepare is to get a good night’s rest. Make sure that you read the prerequisites of the training material. And furthermore, have an open mind as to the things that you are about to learn.

Can I do the labs afterwards, again, or are they tied to the environment?

Most of the labs can be done on your own computer. During the training you will have the training material online (confluence environment), after the training the materials and training environment will not be available anymore.

Can I make a copy of the training labs and give them to my colleagues?

No, it is not allowed. The training material is the intellectual property of Yenlo and may not be photocopied or duplicated in any form or shape.

What happens if I have questions during the training?

During the training you can always ask the trainer, directly in a classroom setting or using digital communication channels like Teams, WhatsApp, email when you have a question when doing the labs / homework.

Can I get extra training materials?

For the API Manager and the Enterprise Integrator, there are advanced courses that will deepen your knowledge with regard to the two products. For Identity Server, an advanced course is under construction.

What are the languages in which the training is available?

The training material, as well as the training, is given in English. However, the training can be given in Dutch or German as well. All materials will be in English, the explanation will be in either English, German or Dutch when there is a homogenous group, i.e. all speakers are either German or Dutch, and they agree to the change of language.

When there is a mixed group of students, we will revert to the common spoken language, English.
