Sky (Telecom and Media) – England
Boomi
Sky, a leading British telecommunications provider, had the goal to enhance customer service by solving technical issues and customer inquiries more efficiently. They wanted to provide their customers with more troubleshooting options.
Before the implementation of Boomi’s iPaaS, Sky’s 24 million customers only had one avenue for help: contacting Sky’s tech support team. This team was juggling 21 different tools to check on their communication systems. As a result, calls were lengthy, and agent recommendations were inconsistent, causing frustration for both customers and agents. Sky had a vision: empower customers through an intuitive self-service application for troubleshooting, creating a unified view of the different systems and technologies running its networks.
After exploring various options, Sky chose Boomi as the platform to power their innovative Future Assurance View (FAV) application. Boomi collects live data from customer equipment, diagnostic applications, and business systems. Then, it applies configurable business rules and logic, and responds through a simple API. Customers are presented with recommendations on how to solve their issues.
The implementation of Boomi is an example of iPaaS that led to the development of an innovative digital self-service application. This not only improved customer service but also increased agent satisfaction. The success of this project was recognized with the 2019 U.K. National Technology Award for Best Enterprise Project.

Cisco Meraki (IT Solutions) – United States
MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform
When IT and networking leader Cisco Systems acquired Meraki, a cloud-managed network solutions specialist, a whole range of integration challenges came to light. The merger led to an influx of leads, which at the time meant manually transferring data from emails into Salesforce Sales Cloud, an error-prone process. On top of that, their lead management solution comprised six disparate legacy systems causing routing errors and missed opportunities.
Cisco Meraki needed to update its “deal review queue” to increase lead routing accuracy, shorten diagnosis and resolution times for lead routing issues, and establish a unified sales data source. They implemented an integration strategy using MuleSoft iPaaS solution Anypoint Platform, Salesforce Platform, Sales Cloud, Tableau, and Slack. They streamlined their tech stack from six to two systems, with Anypoint CloudHub serving as the core for a scalable, globally distributed architecture.
The Anypoint Platform iPaaS solution integrated systems of record, intelligence, and engagement, creating a single sales data source in Salesforce and improving lead routing accuracy. Furthermore, Slack’s integration with Salesforce provided real-time lead alerts for quicker action.
In this example of iPaaS implementations, Cisco Meraki improved their operational efficiency, lead routing accuracy, and drove over $5 billion in sales. They increased the lead routing accuracy rate by 33%, saved over 17 hours per quarter, and reduced deal routing support cases by 37%, freeing up an entire IT team for higher-value projects.
