Docker
Docker, a container technology, is hotter than hot because it makes it possible to get applications running on the same old servers and it also makes it very easy to package and ship programs. Or like Docker says on its website: Docker containers wrap up a piece of software in a complete filesystem that contains everything it needs to run: code, runtime, system tools, system libraries – anything you can install on a server. This guarantees that it will always run the same, regardless of the environment it is running in.
In the series 'Fan of...' we show some of the technology we use during our implementation projects. These are technology components we love, this is what we do. Check.
Virtual Machine hypervisors, such as Hyper-V, OracleVM and VMware (markleader) are based on emulating virtual hardware. That means they’re fat in terms of system requirements.
Containers, like Docker, use shared operating systems. That means they are much more efficient than hypervisors in system resource terms. Instead of virtualizing hardware, containers rest on top of a single Linux instance. This results in a much better usages of the shared hardware resources.
Yenlo is a fan of Docker. We know the technology very well and applied it with succes in several projects. So no worries, we got you covered all the way from implementation till support and everything in between. Contact us for more information.
