Background
In 2020, the ICT and medical technology departments of HagaZiekenhuis merged into the ICMT department, aiming to enhance collaboration. Despite the merger, challenges persisted, requiring improved integration for better communication, security, and efficiency.
The challenge
Clear authorization limits existed post-merger, particularly regarding medical device management between Ultimo and TOPdesk. The IT team held exclusive rights to make changes to computers connected to medical equipment, but lacked expertise in medical devices. Version management was outdated in both departments, posing risks, especially during incidents like the Log4J crisis.
