The ISO 9001 norm describes the internal processes of an organization that contribute to customer satisfaction and quality of products and services. Maarten de Waal, COO and founder of Yenlo: “The ISO 9001 norm shows how processes are managed that are very important for an ICT-services organization like Yenlo, it guarantees our customers that we work according to certain standards and predefined steps.
ISO 27001
The ISO 27001 norm is all about data security and internal procedures and how these are applicable to company data, data from third parties, hosting of data, backups, encryption etc. “This guarantees our customers that their information is in safe hands. Not only for data we need to execute a project but also for data we host and manage.”
“Because Yenlo meets the requirements of the norm our customers can trust that all is well-regulated.”
Handbook
Yenlo has been working on becoming certified for more than a year. “We have written a complete handbook about how we handle processes and data. In the handbook there is a detailed description on the processes we impose on our self. These procedures also bare all kinds of reference documents and filings. For instance we have created an authorization matrix that describes who has a key of the office, who can access what part of the network. The 270001 norm clearly shows to our customers we have documented who can access what data. Because Yenlo meets the requirements of the norm our customers can trust that all is well-regulated.”
“The process pushed our company further. Internally we are as a result working and communicating more efficiently.”
Why get certified?
Yenlo has a lot of customers in de public sector and large healthcare organizations that are audited by the Dutch National Bank. “They ask us for this kind of certification”, according to De Waal. “We differentiate ourselves from the competition because we comply with ISO9001:2008 and the 27001:2013 norm. This has tremendous value for our customers. ISO accreditation for Yenlo is definitely a Unique Selling Point.”
The company itself also benefits from the certification. De Waal: “The process pushed our company further. Internally we are as a result working and communicating more efficiently.
The effects from this certification process has contributed to the fast growth we are experiencing today. We have been very thorough. We have been unofficially audited internally twice before we had our official audit. We needed to be sure we had a perfect quality system in place.”
